This Code of Conduct outlines the principles and behaviours expected of all members of the Kiwibuyers community. By using our platform, you agree to follow this Code. We may update it from time to time by posting a new version on our website.

Basic Principles
All users—buyers, sellers, and professional traders—are expected to:
- Conduct themselves honestly and in good faith at all times.
- Treat others with respect, kindness, and fairness.
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including consumer and IP laws.
- Follow Kiwibuyers’ Terms of Use and related policies.
- Avoid inappropriate or offensive language, hate speech, abuse, harassment, or any form of discrimination.
- Engage in ethical and constructive communication across the platform.
Sellers
Sellers agree to:
- Accurately describe listings and answer questions promptly and truthfully.
- Respond to buyer messages as soon as possible, and ideally within two working days.
- Dispatch items quickly, within seven days of receiving payment, unless otherwise stated or agreed with the buyer.
- Charge fair shipping costs, not inflated for profit, and clearly disclose any fees or delivery timelines.
- Attempt to resolve disputes via email before leaving negative feedback.
Avoid retaliatory feedback or spam communications after transactions are completed.
Buyers
Buyers agree to:
- Respond to seller communications promptly, ideally within two working days.
- Pay for itemsas soon as possible, and within seven days of auction or offer acceptance, unless otherwise agreed.
- Attempt to resolve any disputesrespectfully and via email before leaving negative feedback.
Avoid retaliatory feedback or spam messages after a sale.
Professional Sellers (In-Trade Users)
Sellers operating in trade (i.e., as a business) must:
- Disclose they are selling in trade when listing items.
- Comply with all applicable laws, including:
- Fair Trading Act 1986
- Consumer Guarantees Act 1993
- Ensure goods are:
- Of acceptable quality, fit for purpose, safe, and durable
- Free from undisclosed defects or faults
- Clearly disclose:
- All terms of sale, including estimated delivery times, shipping costs, fees, and applicable taxes
- Provide reasonable post-sale support, including:
- Repair, replacement, or refund options for faulty items
- Prompt and professional resolution of issues (excluding misuse by the buyer)
Enforcement and Reporting
Kiwibuyers may take action against users who breach this Code, including:
- Removal of listings or feedback
- Account suspension or termination
- Legal or regulatory referral where necessary
